Letter to younger self

 My Dear Dante,

Life is like a roller coaster. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down, sometimes it goes fast, and sometimes it goes slow. It can be scary at times, and at others it can be blissful. I can tell you now that there are going to be moments when you question reality. There is no way to put it into words, but you just have to trust the process and fight back against the hardships. You have successfully dug yourself out of many dark tunnels and the light is visible at the other end. I know that sometimes the tunnel might look like it caved in on itself, but I promise you found a way through the maze.

Let me assure you, you’re doing better than you think you are. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Life’s a journey all about learning, growing, and finding joy in the process. While the path ahead is confusing and has no set directions, that’s okay. It’s in all of those detours and confusions that you’ll discover what truly matters to you. Dante you need to take more risks, speak up for yourself and believe in yourself more. Not everyone is going too understand you which is completely fine because not everyone is meant to. Just make sure to focus on the ones who see you for who you really are. Make sure you cherish the people around you. I know that sometimes you believe everyone in your life is against you. Your friends and family are your greatest support system. They are the ones who keep you balances and they are your sound of reason. While you wont always agree with their opinions, just try to understand their perspective, and try your hardest to not just disagree and think they are wrong.

Most importantly, please be kinder to yourself. I am aware of how hard you are always on yourself. From experience, I know that it is impossible to hold yourself to those highstanders. Progress is the goal, not perfection. Nobody is perfect in this world; everyone has their flaws and weaknesses. You are allowed to fail, we have learned a lot from failing which has made us a better person. Please forgive yourself when things do not go as planned and remember your worth is not tied to your achievements.

And finally, please do not forget about having fun. I know that one of our favorite parts of life are those fun moments we get to look back on. So dance like nobody’s watching and live your life to its full potential. Do not beat yourself up about a mistake you wont even remember in a few years. Do not stress yourself out about minor inconviences. Life isn’t meant to just be a serious of accomplishments and failures. It’s about the little joys that makes it all worthwhile. You’ve got this. I believe in you, even when you do not believe in yourself.

I love you,

Future Dante
